Description
As an FA and Test Development Engineer, you will work with a world class team of material experts to help us develop and test new material solutions for a wide range of Apple products. Responsibilities of the role include 1) characterization of material properties, 2) failure analysis, and 3) development of new test techniques, fixtures, and protocols, 4) mechanical testing. In addition, you will collaborate closely with our cross-functional partners in Product Design, Manufacturing Design, and Reliability to help deliver the best material solutions and products to our customers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design skills. Ability to work with FEA engineer to optimize and validate designs. (5+ years of experience)
  • Fixture design skills, focused on high precision alignment and tolerance analysis (2+ years of experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in industry
  • Able to travel up to 40% throughout a year
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong materials knowledge and mechanics of materials fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of mechanics of materials and basic stress/strain analysis
  • Experience with basic materials analysis methods (SEM, EDS, etc..)
  • Experience with specialized test development. Successfully demonstrated the development or implementation of an original test in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools & techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment.
