You understand relational database management systems and are familiar with their inner workings, including SQL, no-SQL and API based data access. You are proficient in one or more programming languages e.g. C/C++, Java, Golang. You may have direct experience working with some open source data management systems such as Spark, Hive or Hadoop. You are aware and attentive as to performance implications as well as the user experience of what you create. You are relentless in seeking out opportunity to innovate and automate to maximise you and your teams productivity through Agile and DevOps principles. What You’ll Do:

You will join a squad integrated into a wider, geographically distributed, organisation, you will participate in the development of the next generation of distributed, highly parallelized, enterprise data management capability for your squad’s mandate on a flexible multicloud data platform. We are looking for skilled developer, with an understanding of RDBM systems, a familiarity with existing data management stacks and strong communication skills. Being self-motivated, hardworking, problem solving, with a focus on quality and performance are keys to succeeding.

You will participate with senior leaders in architectural activities such as requirements gathering and solution definition to meet our customer’s needs.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Early professional or graduate in software development
• Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages C / C++ / Java / python / Go Lang.
• Familiarity with high performance, distributed systems implementation techniques.
• Working knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP etc.
• Good understanding of Linux Operating Systems (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.) and containerised technologies such as Docker & Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of version Control systems like Github and build tools like Make Maven/Gradle.
• Exposure to professional software engineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agile Software Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and source code management.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
• Strong sense of ownership of deliverables.
• Well versed with agile, DevOps and continuous delivery

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Development, deployment experience one or more Cloud environments (e.g AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud etc.)
• Experience with SQL, C/C++, Go Lang, python development and various scripting languages such as bash.
• Expertise in Core Java, Java J2EE , MicroServices Architecture.
• Experience in federated data technologies like GaianDb a distinct advantage.
• Experience in connectivity and ETL from multiple data sources desirable.
• Experience of distributed / HPC computing
• Experience of BigData & Hadoop software stack: HDFS, Hive, HBase, Ambari
• Experience developing compilers and / or RDBMs
• Experience in system & low level programming (TCP/IP, multi-threading, IPC) on the Linux platform
• Experience working in a globally distributed product based engineering team
• Hands on experience in handling and debugging customer issues, work with L2 support team.
