What you will do:

• Provide a high, detailed level of technical assistance to ensure that our customers get the most out of our Red Hat Middleware products

• Engage and collaborate with open source developers around the world

• Offer developer-­to-­developer assistance for the Red Hat Enterprise Middleware Suite (engineering support for engineers)

• Work alongside in­-house developers, write new code, fix & improve code, provide highly technical solutions and contribute to the Red Hat & open source software communities

• Act as the technical point person for a technology of your choosing within the Red Hat Middleware Product Suite

• Develop patches & feature requests that are delivered to both the upstream community and downstream to Red Hat customers.

• Advise customers on best practices for microservice development as well as legacy JEE architectural design decisions

• Work with other open source projects to help customers integrate Red Hat products with their applications.

What you will bring:

• 4+ years of professional Java development with microservices or J2EE/JEE platform experience. A solid understanding of Java Programming API's and popular Java frameworks is preferred

• Deep experience with one or several integration technologies such as JMS, Apache Kafka, Debezium, Apicurio Registry, Camel, Spring Boot, Quarkus, OpenShift or Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, Web Services, SOAP, REST, Servlets, JDBC, and Hibernate

• Solid knowledge of Quarkus and Debezium (CDC)

• Must have hands­-on experience with Java microservices development using Spring Boot, Quarkus, or JBoss/WebSphere/WebLogic.Along with an ability and willingness to learn new open source middleware technologies, applicant must have strong troubleshooting/debugging skills and a passion for problem solving and investigation

• Very clear and effective English communications skills (Verbal & Written)

• BE/BS/BA degree in engineering or computer science is preferred; equivalent experience within the enterprise IT sector will also be considered
