What a typical day looks like:
- Complete necessary certificates for client handover and produce progress reports on project status as required.
- Efficiently supervise and direct employees and contractors to maximize company profits while maintaining quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Promote risk management practices, targeting ‘zero harm’ by identifying and controlling hazards to prevent work-related illness and eliminate unsafe acts and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) matters, conducting weekly toolbox talks and task briefings as required.
- Carry out and record site risk assessments, ensuring that method statements are communicated, understood, and followed.
- Verify the competency of personnel, supervise Permit to Work systems, and ensure equipment and PPE are used correctly and safely.
- Monitor site activities, intervene when problems are identified, and lead by example to promote safety and welfare on site.
- Report near misses and accidents to the company Project Manager and liaise with clients as necessary.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and conscientious with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately under deadlines in a busy and pressurized environment, demonstrating flexibility.
- Essential experience in mechanical installation of switchgear and in a supervisory role.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Current SSSTS Certificate.
- UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate.
- Valid Manual Handling Awareness Certificate.
- Current and relevant ESC Card.
