RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:- Setting standard practices and independently determining the impact on design approaches and parameters for final products.- Applying extensive expertise in all facets of mechanical product design, providing direction, mentorship, and resources to other engineering groups, project leaders, and factory technicians.- Acting as lead engineer on a variety of projects, participating in project planning of major sub-projects, and staying current on relevant technical trends and developments.- Designing for manufacturability by providing early and ongoing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable.- Managing all phases of product engineering, from concept through repeat manufacturing to the end of life, including production support engineering with advanced testing methods, procedures, and failure analysis.- Developing advanced process engineering solutions to improve quality and efficiency.- Improving automation equipment by enhancing retry rates, reducing downtime, and managing OSS issues through innovative design and methodologies.- Planning, developing, and implementing advanced testing and evaluation procedures for upcoming product releases, including the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis based on Six Sigma principles.
