Candidate would develop technical expertise in the selected product line, develop proposals for growth ideas and work for improving the product line.
Independently execute projects within a cross-functional NPI team.
Responsibilities include identifying customer requirements, creating and selecting optimal concepts, validating detailed product designs, and managing product release.
Able to conceptualize product application environment and type of product change, predict risk & impact, mitigate risks through simulation &tests.
Capable of conducting product and process capability studies, Gauge MSA assessments, and reviewing product or project data alongside other engineering evaluations.
Able to write test plan and work with simulation & product validation team and finalize product test report, technical reports, project documentation and progress reporting.
PDM support for Engineering Change Orders - ECO/ECN (drawings, CAD models).
Good communication skills, proficient in leading and driving overall product development aspects from mechanical standpoint
Perseverant approach with a goal-oriented and analytical mindset
Work with operations and supply chain to ensure manufacturability of the product and participate in production test equipment development and design transfer activities.
Create CAD models and drawings of mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and parts.
Professional Skills and Knowledge:
Good understanding of principles of operation of position sensors (e.g., RVDT, LVDT, Hall effect linear and rotary sensors)
Proficiency in designing and optimizing sensor housings, mountings systems, and interfaces to meet functional & environmental requirements.
Understanding of magnetic design and materials.
Experience in designing for extreme environments (e.g., Temperature, vibration, humidity)
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for sensor performance issues.
Experience in integrating sensors into larger mechanical systems and assemblies.
Knowledge of sensor data processing, calibration and accuracy enhancement methods.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards (eg, ISO, MIL-Std, DO-160, AS9100)
Exposure to New product development
Conceptualize the product and translate the requirements into CTQs for design
Good knowledge about materials such as engineering plastics, metals, plating
Familiarization with GD&T Concepts, AMSE Y14.5, Statistical Tolerance Analysis, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly
Predict, quantify & mitigate technical risks in the product design. Expertise in developing DFMEA, PFMEA , control plan and process flow chart
Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement projects
Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and methodology
Good orientation in technical sources and search capabilities of required technical information
Language communication skills - speaking, email, and phone calls
Communication with external/internal customer/supplier
YOU MUST HAVE
Experience and Education Required: 12+ Years
B.E/ B. Tech/ M.E/ M.Tech in Mechanical
Proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric (Pro/ENGINEER) and Autodesk AutoCAD is essential.
Familiarity with Teamcenter PDM/PLM systems.
Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
