Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Technical Lead for the development of our next generation product.
- Provide technical leadership related to product design.
- Create a strong team culture around high expectations & high performance.
- Lead the design & execution of structured experimental plans to drive data-based decisions.
- Facilitate crisp decision making around key technical issues for the overall system and across multiple technical workstreams.
- Provide clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates.
- Leverage internal/external partners as necessary to achieve project objectives.
- Understand clinical use cases and user interface requirements to drive design decisions.
- Work cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on complex projects to ensure project success.
- Provide multiple options and considerations based on feedback from clinical, manufacturing and business teams
- Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and other engineers.
- Document development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests.
- Solve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommend solutions or alternative actions.
- Analyze, evaluate, and verify requirements, component performance, and systems by using engineering practices.
- In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree or more from an accredited school in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 6+ years with Master’s Degree.
- 3+ years of experience in New Product Development in the medical device industry
- Ability to provide technical leadership as it relates to product design and leadership.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- New product development experience in implants or cardiovascular products
- Experience in all stages of the Product Development Planning (PDP) lifecycle
- Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
- Experience being a self-starter with a hands-on approach
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience interacting with physicians and customers on product design
- Willingness to work onsite at our Maple Grove, MN site (3+ days per week)

- Ability to build strong relationships across the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Experience in exploratory/TDP product development or early feasibility studies
- Experience in driving technical trade-off decisions to optimize design, performance, usability, manufacturability, cost-efficiency and reliability.
- Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to exercise a solution focused and flexible mindset
Base Salary Range:
Minimum Salary: $96200
Maximum Salary: $182700
Compensation for
exempt rolesmay also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives
