Intel Director Manufacturing Sustainability Policy

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement Intel's policy advocacy strategy and programs to address current and future business needs and achieve favorable outcomes in the policy and regulatory areas of manufacturing (including chemical regulations), environmental sustainability and climate change.

  • Leverage pre-existing network for policy engagement with governments; build and maintain strong relationships with additional key policymakers.

  • Build, maintain and enhance the relationship with key decision makers and agencies on policy and regulatory developments, and play a driving role in influencing them both as part of industry consortia and Intel plans.

  • Partner and collaborate with other Government Affairs team members on government engagement strategies, advocacy activities, and high-level meetings with key stakeholders to advance Intel's Manufacturing and Sustainability policy priorities, including monitoring and tracking policy development, regulatory and legislative activities.

  • Represent Intel in relevant trade associations, industry groups and coalitions in the US and other jurisdictions, as appropriate.

  • Proactively keep Intel management and internal stakeholders abreast of any policy changes or activities, to ensure alignment with emerging government laws, regulations, and standards; anticipate challenges and obstacles Intel could face as the public policy, regulatory and political landscape evolves.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Deep subject matter expertise in environmental and climate policy.

  • Extensive, proven experience in policy advocacy.

  • Thinks strategically and operates in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment, drawing upon both a broad set of experience and a willingness to learn new areas.

  • Excellent judgment, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated skills to drive projects that require strategic thinking combined with mastery of complex legal and technical principles.

  • Strong relationship-building skills, with ability to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including a deep external network.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment and comfortable working with both technicians and policymakers.

  • Clear reputation for ethical conduct and unquestionable integrity.

  • Team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humor, working effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for relocation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, engineering technology, science, business, or policy-related (e.g., energy or environmental).

  • 7-10 years of experience focusing on manufacturing, environmental and sustainability policy in:

    • National/regional government institutions.

    • Information Technology sector or other relevant industry.

    • Trade associations, consultancies, or any other organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant technical experience in an environmental or chemical regulatory field.

  • 10+ years of relevant policy experience working on environmental or chemical regulations with regulatory agencies; experience working on chemical regulations with the US Environmental Protection Agency is a definite plus.

  • Proven track record of leading and influencing regulatory and processes, including successful advocacy efforts that achieved favorable policy outcomes.
