Your role and responsibilities

The IBM Germany Lab is offering internships for MSc and PhD students interested in experiencing the research environment in IBM Quantum.

Based in the Quantum Algorithms Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research at the intersection of quantum circuit transpilation and quantum error mitigation with a strong focus on utility-scale quantum computing.

Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred education
Master's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise

• Applicants should be enrolled in an MSc or PhD programme in computer science, mathematics, physics or a related field focusing on quantum computing and quantum information.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience developing novel quantum circuit transpilation and/or quantum error mitigation algorithms.

• Experience with the Qiskit SDK.

• Experience with software development.
