Job responsibilities
- Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs
- Design and implement observability solutions to monitor and analyze the performance of our systems and applications.
- Develop dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time insights into system health and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address observability requirements and challenges.
- Support application teams in adopting observability practices to bridge business KPIs and the infrastructure components that support them.
- Optimize existing monitoring and observability tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for observability and monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to system performance and reliability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in observability and monitoring technologies.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role, with a focus on observability and monitoring.
- Experience designing, planning and implementing observability strategies
- Proficiency or certifications in at least one of the following tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Strong understanding of observability principles, including metrics, logs, and traces.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in one or more programming language(s)
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive and innovative mindset, with a passion for continuous improvement.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
