Responsibilities:

  • Planning for material requirements: Analyze production data, demand forecasts and current stock levels to assess future material requirements.
  • Inventory management: Monitor inventory levels according to MRP recommendations and coordinate orders with suppliers to ensure adequate supply while avoiding surpluses and production stoppages
  • Issue purchase requisitions: Send purchase requisitions and communicate required performance indicators to suppliers
  • Follow-ups: Work closely with suppliers to track active requisitions and delays and update the ERP system.
  • Forecasting: Submit and update consumption forecasts to help suppliers understand Siemens’ changing needs
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering and logistics teams to ensure efficient planning and seamless flow of materials
  • Supplier management: Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, monitor performance and proactively resolve problems
  • Use of computer systems: Use planning software and IT tools to track inventory, generate reports and analyze data
  • Emergency management: Respond to unforeseen events such as late deliveries, material shortages or changes in production plans by quickly adjusting plans and finding alternative solutions

**Please note that the position is located in person at our Drummondville plant***

What will you need to succeed?

  • Diploma in logistics, administration, operations management, supply chain management, or related field
  • At least 6 months to1 year previous professional experience in a planning or purchasing role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Advanced English and fluency in French spoken and written, to interact with our American suppliers and clients
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in IT tools (MS Office)
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning software (SAP), an asset.
  • Understanding of custom manufacturing processes
