Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Present clinical data to healthcare insurers, payers both private (commercial) and public payers at national, regional, and local levels
Support payer and market access strategies and tactics
Partner with Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) function to align and train on payer resources such as AMCP dossier, economic models and analyses, and value evidence
Provide support for planning and execution of the Medical Affairs program strategy for ruxolitinib cream and IAI portfolio
Expertly deliver scientific, medical, and RWE/HEOR information and interpretation of clinical research findings
Provide expertise in a cross-functional environment to field-based medical science liaisons as well as internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs functions, Marketing Department, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, and Drug Safety/ Pharmacovigilance Department, Sales Training)
Participate in the design, conduct, analysis, and reporting of RWE / HEOR studies including observational studies
Provide medical review and expertise and serve as medical monitor for independent investigator-sponsored research (IIR)
Provide expertise to the Commercial organization, including review of promotional materials, sales training, and speaker training for promotional programs
Interface with external experts and US health care insurers and payer professionals at major conferences, advisory boards, and other external meetings
Develop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives
Primarily conducts in-person engagements with the healthcare community within the territory, with occasional virtual interaction when requested or required
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
PharmD, MS, or PhD, in pharmacoeconomics, health services research or relevant field of study
Pharmaceutical industry work experience of at least five (7) years
Minimum of 3 years of direct field outcomes liaison
Experience in presenting clinical and HEOR data to US insurers and payers including medical directors, policy makers, and P&T committees
Experience with new product launch, preferably in dermatology, inflammation and autoimmunity is highly desirable
Experience in atopic dermatitis and vitiligo is a plus
Medical Affairs, understanding of clinical development and commercial activities is preferred
Ability to partner effectively with Field Medical staff is required
Strong insurer/payer insight, understanding of US healthcare stakeholder and reimbursement systems and knowledge of RWE /HEOR data & studies, including economic modeling, HTAs, comparative effectiveness, and disease registries
Ability to comprehend and combine complex sets of data
Ability to educate internal stakeholders on disease state and/or product/ brand-specific information.
Ability to present and discuss complex clinical, medical, biological, or translational data
Approximately 60-70% domestic travel is required
