You would act as the key Account Manager for Public sector. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and drive direct sales initiatives targeting Japan’s Central Government sector. The primary objective will be to generate and expand new business opportunities with large-scale deals or strategic accounts within this territory. You will be responsible for formulating and executing strategic account plans aimed at achieving organization-wide deployment of Fortinet products and services.

Additionally, you will be expected to build and maintain trusted, executive-level relationships with key decision-makers and influential stakeholders, leveraging these connections throughout the sales cycle. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to prepare and deliver compelling contract bids, proposals, responses to RFIs/RFPs, and Statements of Work.

Furthermore, you will lead business negotiations with clients to establish mutually beneficial, win-win agreements that lay the foundation for strong, long-term partnerships.

As a Major Accounts Manager, you will:

  • Generate public sector business opportunities and manage the entire sales process through to closure.
  • Achieve agreed-upon quarterly sales targets.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, qualify opportunities, and provide accurate pipeline forecasts.
  • Manage key Fortinet partners and end users within the public sector.

  • Minimum of 8 years of sales experience targeting central government, local government, education, healthcare institutions, and strategic partners.
  • At least 3 years of experience selling enterprise network security products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell solutions to central government agencies and strategic partners.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving sales quotas and maintaining career stability.
  • Extensive experience in closing large-scale deals.
  • Strong presentation skills, effective with both executives and individual contributors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and independent thinker with the ability to drive deals through the entire sales cycle.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly evolving environment.
  • Competitive, self-starting, hunter-type sales mentality.
  • BS or equivalent experience, graduate degree preferred.
