What You’ll DoWhat You’ll Bring
- Be the subject matter expert in maintaining and upgradingtooling and fixtures used in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) processes
- Understand GD&T and design principles
- Work with equipment vendors to develop unique solutionsfrom concept to production phase
- Leverage our in-house machine shop/prototyping team todesign, fabricate and qualify new designs
- Working with other operational teams to identify andresolve production bottlenecks
- Present data for design reviews and information to crossfunctional teams and management effectively
- Continuously analyze BIW manufacturing processes toidentify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and increasedefficiency
- Provide technical support to the maintenance team toresolve any BIW-related issues that may arise during manufacturing, ensuringminimal downtime
- Create and maintain documentation, including standardoperating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process manuals
- Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics Engineering,or equivalent experience
- Practical experience with BIW manufacturing processes,equipment, and assembly flow
- Proficiency with CATIA, 3D experience is desired
- Be a subject matter expert in maintaining and upgradingtooling and fixtures used in Gas Metal Arc Welding, Resistance Spot Welding, structureadhesive processes, including updating cranes and all equipment needed inBIW
- Understanding of complex automation control systems
- Partner with Controls Engineers and Process Engineers tosustain, maintain and improve the existing Gas Metal Arc Welding equipment
- Knowledge of heavy duty crane systems
- Understanding of safety regulations
