What you’ll do:
Expected start date to end date: June/July 2025 for 12-months
Hourly Expectations: 40hrs/ week
- Project Support
- Assist in planning, organizing, and managing security-related projects.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including timelines, status reports, and risk assessments.
- Track project progress and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Risk Management
- Support the identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks to organizational assets.
- Assist in developing mitigation strategies and tracking their implementation.
- Participate in risk assessment activities and help prepare reports for senior leadership.
- Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as IT, Operations, and Compliance to align security efforts with business objectives.
- Assist in coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting outcomes.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Support the development and review of policies and procedures related to security and risk management.
- Assist in preparing compliance documentation and reports for internal and external audits.
- Research and Analysis
- Conduct research on emerging security trends and threats.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on research findings.
- Tools and Technology
- Learn and use risk management and project management tools.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting security metrics and KPIs.
What you bring:
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning. The successful candidate will also have:
- Education: Current enrollment or recently graduated in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or JD/PhD program.
- Certifications: Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or ISC² CC or SSCP are required.
- Knowledge:
- Knowledge of analytics tools such as Power BI is essential.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and regulatory requirements.
- Basic understanding of risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, NIST) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools (e.g., Jira).
- Familiarity with security tools or GRC platforms is a plus.
