Java Support engineer with 5-7 Yrs of Experience to maintain and support application built on Java & JSP.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for production systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks, system outages, and other critical incidents.
  • Maintain and enhance legacy applications built using Core Java and JSP.
  • Demonstrated ability to triage & resolve technical production issues.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with good communication and presentation skills.
  • Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide timely solutions.
  • Demonstrable understanding of high-quality coding and testing practices.
  • Leveraging deep understanding and adoption of Agile software delivery techniques and technologies including Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
  • L2/L3 Support Engineer Role to support Enterprise Application by analysing & debugging issues
  • Reproduce issues to be able to debug & suggest a fix or workaround
  • Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent issues outside of regular business hours.


Skills and attributes for success

  • Minimum five years of professional experience as a Java Support engineer with hands-on experience in JSP
  • Experience in application support for Java based applications
  • Perform defect fixing and provide quick work-around of production issues
  • Experience in event driven system like Kafka
  • Experience in code debugging & Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience in application development tools (e.g. GIT, SVN and source control), testing, and process and configuration management
  • Effectively communicates and documents technical architecture and solutions to internal peergroups as well as other groups
  • A team player with solid communication skills, excellent at problem solving, troubleshooting, andembracing new challenges
  • Manage team members, assign work and drive production support delivery
  • Positive attitude and the ability to remain flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to manage time across multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as the maturity towork independently.
  • General working knowledge with the on-prem or Cloud Platform
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, Attention to details.
  • Should have understanding and experience of software development best practices and ITIL Process.
  • Experience in using Service Now, Incident, Service Request and Change Management Process.
  • Education in Information Technology or equivalent working experience
  • Have exposure to working in shifts and on-call support.

To qualify for the role, you must have.

  • 5-8 yars (Senior) of experience in Core Java and JSP application development, maintenance & support.
  • Experience in Core Java 8+
  • JSP, Html, CSS, JavaScript
  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL)
  • Junit, Mockito
  • GIT
  • Kafka
  • Flexible to work in shifts and On Call Support on a roster-ed rotational basis.
