Primarily responsible for load and shipment planning and optimization, equipment & trailer pool planning, and lane analysis for outbound customer shipments within US.
Ensure that the carriers are meeting/exceeding their performance SLAs. Develop, measure, and monitor transportation KPIs.
Support Transportation optimization by providing analytics, forecast reporting and operational insight focused on cost savings, operational efficiency and transportation capacity management.
Work with cross functional teams to drive overall US and Canada network performance
Monitor carrier pickup and delivery performance andresolves carrier pickup or equipment issues.
Support the operations network during end of month/quarter and peak shipping periods.
Monitor and support special event shipments.
Monitor and support retail new store/load in projects.
Support the business on new initiates and projects with key partners.
Key Relationships:
Internally: Distribution Centers, Store Operations, eCommerce Operations, Customer Service, Sales, Finance
Externally: 3PL’s, Carriers (parcel, LTL, and TL), Freight Brokers
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Previous exposure or direct experience using transportation management systems or and/or transportation modeling or routing tools
Excellent analysis and data management skills with demonstrated ability to organize data and prepare reports in a logical manner
Ability to effectively interact and build a favorable business relationship with all carriers
Ability to work constructively with carriers to provide capacity during peak periods
Attention to detail and ability to navigate systems to obtain data required.
A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, MicroStrategy, and/or Tableau.
Knowledge of all modes of transportation (IM,LTL,TL and Small Parcel).
Excellent analytical skills and experience with performance metrics or KPI’s.
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills to conduct meetings and make presentations to stakeholders and project teams
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
4-year college or university degree, focus on Business Administration, Business Analytics, Engineering, Logistics/Transportation or Supply Chain preferred.
1-3 years related progressive work experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
