The HR Policy lead role is responsible for leading and driving the governance efforts of HR Policy documents across the Asia South, Australia and Japan (“JANA”) cluster. The role is responsible to ensure policy harmonization for Asia South, Australia and Japan cluster in adherence to Citi’s Policy transformation efforts. The role is responsible for ensuring consistency in the development of HR policy and practices, to the extent possible, that are in line with Citi’s HR Policy objectives. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of employment laws and their impact on Policy and has knowledge of how multiple areas within the HR function interact, to achieve the objectives of the cluster HR Policy function and overall global HR policy objectives. This role will report to the Asia South and Asia North, Australia and Japan Cluster HR Policy Manager (C14, SVP).Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements employment policies and practices that are legally and practically sound and in line with Citi’s HR Policy harmonization strategy.
- Regularly assesses and updates existing HR policy and other HR documents, keeping abreast of new emerging policy trends and identifies opportunities for policy harmonization andstandardization.
- Creates communications and facilitates training on new or required revisions to existing HR policies relevant to the HR community and other key stakeholders, as required.
- Driving Policy governance efforts across Asia North, Australia and Japan cluster by leading coordination with key stakeholders in the design, development, implementation and approval of HR policies (including handbooks), across Asia North, Australia and Japan cluster in a consistent manner.
- Facilitates annual reviews of Citi For You and HR Help Center to ensure all posted HR policies, standards, and procedures for the Asia North, Australia and Japan cluster are current.
- Coordinates with the HR Control & Compliance and legal organizations to analyze regulatory or legal updates, identify needed policy changes, and manage the update, implementation, and education of those changes.
- Maintains an inventory of HR policy documents across the Asia North, Australia and Japan cluster, including the use of relevant policy document templates.
- Ensures any policy implementation risk & issues are escalated appropriately, any local exceptions are appropriately documented and that any required approvals are obtained prior to implementation or revisions.
- Partners with the key stakeholders of Asia North, Australia and Japan cluster to support consistent application of HR policies and identification of unique country level requirements.
- Engages with partners in the assessment, development, and implementation of self-service content in Citi For You / HR Help Center platforms.
- Coordinates with HR and legal resources to manage HR policy dispensations, waivers/exceptions.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert and known internally as a reliable, knowledgeable resource.

Qualifications:
- 6 - 8+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources, preferably Employee Relations, Control & Compliance, or Employment legal with an emphasis on policy work.
- Knowledge of employment policies, practices and employment law and regulations.
- Experience in drafting material for a broad audience, including policy writing, regular communications, training material, and formal documents.
- Prior experience working across multi-jurisdictions preferred.
- Fluent in English (writing and speaking).
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook
Education:
