Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test new features and enhancements to our Live Migration control plane service in EC2.
- Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to define requirements, priorities, and timelines for feature development and bug fixes.
- Diagnose and resolve issues that arise in our production environment, ensuring that our service is always available and performing optimally.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers to ensure that our codebase is maintainable, scalable, and efficient.
- Continuously improve our control plane service by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and performance tuning.A day in the lifeWe do not split development and operations. As part of this role, you will be part of an on-call rotation. We relentlessly work to deliver the best quality software to avoid getting paged during our off hours, and expect you to do the same.About the team

Work/Life Balance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in software development, with a focus on distributed systems at scale, networking, or infrastructure software.
- Experience operating and supporting production cloud services, including on-call responsibilities.
- Strong programming skills in at least one high-level programming language such as Java, Kotlin, C++, or others.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python, Ruby, or similar.
