Seattle, WA, USAOur team is looking for a software development manager to help us continue to raise the security bar for cloud computing. You will build tools that move security early in the development lifecycle. Your team owns the tooling that drives the security review and penetration testing processes at AWS. You will manage our workflow, reporting and analytics platform that provides critical visibility into the security of AWS software for AWS leaders.This is a role that combines robust software development of scalable systems, software security, and advanced analysis of programs. We help AWS developers build security into their systems, and we help AWS Security personnel verify that systems are secure. Our tools target all types of AWS systems in a range of domains including web services, IoT, robotics, hypervisors, and cryptography. We must handle the wide range of languages and technologies in use in AWS. Our systems must be scalable to support a large and growing developer population that is innovating quickly.

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
