Your Key Responsibilities

  • Pursuing exciting initiatives in the Financial Services industry across banking, insurance, and reinsurance clients
  • This is a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of solutions to our clients’ issues. Allowing you to develop a wide breadth of skills and competencies, with many of these being focused around the key actuarial processes and techniques.
  • The nature of Consulting promises a fast paced and engaging career. You will also have the opportunity to work in developing new ideas on current industry issues.
  • You will work on client assignments from day one with a supportive and highly experienced team. By working for multiple clients, you will use analyses and modelling techniques to achieve a thorough understanding of business and technical issues enabling you to provide constructive advice and support to our clients.
  • Assignments in either Non-Life (P&C/GI) or Life Insurance and Reinsurance.
  • You will have the opportunity to experience new and diverse aspects of the actuarial profession. This includes actuarial audit support and reserving, financial reporting (e.g. IFRS 17) and capital modelling (e.g. SST). You will also have the opportunity to explore other areas like machine learning / analytics, M&A and Risk Management.
  • You will assist senior management at our clients and build your international profile by working in global reach projects with multicultural teams both in Switzerland and abroad.
  • You will be responsible for your own deliverables as well as for coaching and managing junior staff.
  • Taking responsibility and leading the delivery of project streams and internal initiatives
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, business partners, and multi-disciplinary teams to help shaping ideas, designing solutions, and delivering measurable, sustainable improvements in business performance
  • Applying storytelling skills and presenting recommendations to our clients in a clear and logical manner
  • Leveraging and further developing our global EY methodologies, frameworks, tools, accelerators, and enablers for a range of transformation goals
  • Driving internal topic roundtables and thought leadership sessions
  • Helping to drive go-to-market and business development initiatives to continuously provide valuable solutions for our clients.

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the Financial Services Industry and/or experience in a management consultancy practice.
  • You have experience in:
    • Software asset development
    • Software product lifecycle management
    • Data Management and analytics
  • You have fresh ideas, an innovative mind and have a strong desire to structure and solve problems.
  • You have experience in either life or non-life (re)insurance; IFRS 17 experience is considered a major plus.
  • Excellent infrastructure and security requirements knowledge.
  • You have a strong academic record, ideally with a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics or related.
  • Fluency in English. German or French language skills are considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong motivation to join a dynamic consulting environment and to work in the financial services sector.
  • Distinctive problem-solving skills and good business judgment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong team player with a client-oriented attitude, willing to proactively drive solutions within highly motivated and diverse teams across functions and geographies.

Ideally you will also have

  • Experience and/or interest in leading a small team within a project stream.
  • Knowledge in machine learning and programming (R, Python) and data visualization (Power BI).
  • Strong connection in the Financial Services Industry.
