You will have many opportunities to expand your tasks and responsibilities. As a Legal Entity Controller – Vice President within Corporate & Investment Bank Finance & Business Management, you will be closely supervising and guiding your direct reports including financial reporting and regulatory reports which included both financials and regulatory capital related items.

Job responsibilities

• Manage a team of several people
• Reviewing and assessing the risks regarding our local regulatory capital
• Coordinate with product/financial controllers for various businesses
• Enhance controls for all regulatory reports including the processes for capital adequacy ratios
• Monitoring currency hedge processes
• Further automate manual tasks which can be justified by cost/benefit

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Minimum of 10 years of accounting or finance experience, (including 5 years of people management experience) either within a financial institution or as an auditor/advisor
• Soft skills to lead and grow knowledge/skills of team/ensure the well-being of team
• Strong GAAP (J GAAP and/or US GAAP) knowledge is a must
• Solid understanding of financial products, e.g., shorting, margin trade, security borrowing/lending, options, swap, forwards and futures
• Japanese native and business level English required
• Previous experience with regulatory capital calculation preparation/review required including as an advisor and/or an auditor

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Previous experience with securities company and/or big 4 accounting firms is a plus
• FRM, CFA and/or J-CPA is a plus
