Responsibilities:
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the RES Business in the areas of regulations management, data privacy and other areas as necessary.
- Key point of contact for 2nd line of defense (Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM) and Operational Risk Management (ORM)) related to key banking regulations impacting RES worldwide.
- Owner of RES Regulatory Risk Management procedures that specifies the requirements for RES to identify non-banking regulations, impacting RES, typically building, fire safety, environmental, health and safety, construction and property registration, real estate laws and regulations.
- Support the RES Global Compliance Head in advising and supporting activities performed by RES Regional Compliance team members, based in multiple regions and if/as necessary the role also requires ability to manage same areas.
- Provision of trainings on Compliance Operational activities to Compliance team members
- Participate in and/or oversee RES Compliance projects and issue resolutions, ability to provide reporting and presentation on them.
- Support RES Compliance team members in reading and understanding regulations from various jurisdictions
- Identify applicability of regulations on RES and assess their impact
- Work with RES teams to achieve their awareness on regulations and processes are in place to manage compliance.
- Ensure significant regulations are tested for compliance within the independent testing program (Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA))
- Provide presentations and updates to Senior Management on regulatory risks and changes
- Functions as one of the key point of contacts for internal audit on regulatory inventory areas, manage audit preparation and deliverables on the same.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Law Degree preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in regulatory or compliance management
- Experience in reading and understanding laws, regulations, legal codes is highly preferred
- Understanding of risks in real estate operations (construction, facilities management, transactions)
- Familiar and fluent to interact with 2nd and 3rd lines of defense and senior management
- Experience in reading, interpreting, formulating procedures or manuals is preferred
- Ability to influence people across the business to achieve results and to successfully execute assigned responsibilities
- Ability to communicate with senior management and manage trainings / presentations online to large audiences
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically / analytically and creatively problem solve
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written
