Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy:Lead a team through two management layers, focusing on integration and needs of our regulated entity, aligning with the FinTech Products and Leadership Teams. Oversee 3rd party vendor selection and evaluation, and coordinate with the FinTech Extended Leadership Team for product development.
- Collaboration & Alignment:Maintain alignment with Tax & Compliance, Legal, and the Insurance team for policy updates. Develop partnerships with Booking Holdings Financial Services, Accommodations, Data, Product, and Commercial leadership to map long-term technology vision and strategy.
- Team Empowerment:Inspire and motivate the team, set clear expectations, provide ownership, and foster a learning environment through coaching and feedback. Measure success through KPIs and report on performance and business impact.
- Operational Excellence:Shape and build new services, processes, and operational plans that align with the commercial and financial needs of the business. Ensure adherence to Booking architecture principles and engineering practices.
- End-to-End Responsibility:Oversee the regulatory technology track across multiple entities and channels, ensuring user journey improvement and compliance. Develop custom processes (e.g., partner onboarding, KYC, AML) and integrate solutions with third-party vendors.
- Communication & Mastery:
Ideal Experience & Skills:
- Regulated technology, payments technology industry experience:Significant years of experience leading technology teams in high-traffic sites (100,000+ visitors/day), preferably in marketplaces and a B2B company. Regulated environments such as neobanks and regtech companies are preferred.
- Leadership:. Shown leadership in building high-scale systems. Management experience of 50+ engineering managers through 2 layers of management.Experience leading and coaching senior tech leaders, building and growing teams. Commitment to a diverse, inclusive work environment and fostering good cultural and organizational sensitivity.
- Regulatory context in EEADeep expertise in building products with PII, focusing on security and data protection. Experience with payments and tax regulations (e.g., DSA, DAC7) and handling audit requirements. Shown ability to contribute to system design, architecture, and technical problem-solving.
- Strong Stakeholder Management, negotiation and communication skills:Strong project management skills for planning, setting, and handling timelines. Expertise in leading through influence and collaborating with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, UX, Finance,
- Strategic and Hands-On Approach:Strategic thinker balancing long-term vision with short- and medium-term goals. Willingness to roll up sleeves and get things done, providing technical direction, and making build vs. buy decisions.
