Your key responsibilities
- Develop effective business relationships with leaders, partners and other key stakeholders across the practice to understand the East client base and staffing requirements and to align staffing objectives with Assurance strategy and KPIs
- Lead the assignment of (and may also have direct responsibility for the staffing of a particular region or group) appropriate client service personnel to engagements.
- Develop your team to make the best possible staffing decisions by accessing and analyzing information presented, reviewing options available and presenting recommendations based on area policies and client requirements (complexity of engagement, continuity, expertise required, etc.) .
- You will be the escalation point for resolving staffing conflicts in East Region. Negotiate with client serving teams to shift time or create individual availability to meet staffing priorities for the office/area.
- Lead and coordinate the annual deployment planning process in Eastern Canada Assurance
- Responsible for ensuring that all Quality (EMQC) requirements for your region are completed accurately and promptly.
- Work closely with other members of the EM team and other functional areas (finance, HR etc) to ensure effective processes and sharing of resources
- Regularly communicate with People Leader, counsellors and Talent Consultants regarding headcount activity and any performance issues surfaced by engagement teams.
- Review actual and projected utilization, anticipate availability and proactively direct your team on how best to minimize unassigned time while balancing the workloads of client servers.
- Participate in performance management meetings for practice personnel by providing EM perspective and statistics
- Lead performance management and provide coaching for your local EM team
To qualify for the role you must have
- A minimum of 7 years related experience
- Leadership experience with a proven track record as an inspirational and empathetic leader
- This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally where fluency in French and English is required. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Proficient at negotiation skills and conflict management
- Strong client service focus--responsive to requests maintains a sense of urgency in resolving issues
- Knowledge of Retain software and/or Assurance business processes would be considered as an asset
