We are z/OS Operating System professionals working on IBM Z. We build a secure operating system for our IBM Z customers to deploy their mission critical applications.
As a build and system admin Engineer, you will be part of the z/OS team working on different products. You will be fully hands-on in programming, executing build routines, system admin activities. You should be familiar with z/OS programming with MVS and SMPE skills. A strong understanding ofsoftware architecture and design and expertise in Agile processes is required. A seasoned hands-on build and system admin Engineer who can comfortably interact and collaborate with senior technical and business leaders across the global z/OS development organization is preferred.What you’ll do:
This is an opportunity to work on z/OS systems as a build and systems admin. IBMers in this role can expect to work in build and system admin routines, creating build repositories, build/code deliverables at a defined frequency and on a need basis, creating test ids, allocation of DASD, system privileges for test machines, migration from legacy build systems to newer technologies, etc.
- Function as a hands-on Engineer for the build and system admin team.
- Write build/system admin related documents, code, automate, migrate, etc
- Complete ownership of end-to-end deliverables
- Collaborate with global teams
- Look for improvements in Software Development life cycle

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience in the build and system admin activities.
- Demonstrated execution experience of Systems development
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, Java, z/OS programmer with MVS and SMPE knowledge
- Experience in Agile process
- Extensive experience in debugging and troubleshooting issues.
- Ability to learn new tools quickly
- Good communication skills as this involves interacting with global stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to learn new concepts and ramp up in a short span.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- PLX, z/VM system programming, working knowledge of Jenkins, JMeter, DevOps, ANT scripting, GIT, Linux, DBB, Groovy, DASD management
