Utilities Engineer, including major projects, and is able to work independently on small & medium scale projects where applicable. The Utilities Designer may be client facing and provides support to
design production on projects utilising 12d software and should have experience with the requirements and regulations associated with utility infrastructure in NSW.
The Utilities Designer will provide direction to junior designers and remote workshare staff in the correct application of design software, interpretation and application of design standards and ensure
that designs are produced in a consistent manner and to the quality expected by clients.
The Utilities Designer is required to interface with the Utilities team and Design Manager and Project Engineers, as well as interface with our offshore resources who are part of Jacobs’ Global
their peers within the ANZ region to promote productivity and best practices within evolving Digital Engineering frameworks.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience
- Current knowledge of utilities modelling methods, applicable codes and specifications associated with road and highway infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of Transport for NSW/RMS and AustRoads design standards, Utility provider regulations and standards.
- Experience with various aspects of the design process, construction methods and interface requirements of multi-disciplinary projects
- including but not limited to roads geometry,drainage, ITS and electrical, structures, noise walls and pavements
- Liaison with clients including delivery partners
- Working understanding of 12d.
- Developed analytical skills and attentive to detail
- Demonstrates influence, building support for ideas, presenting alternatives and recommendations
Demonstrate an understanding of the design process, co-ordination of work with other design disciplines and the efficient delivery of projects within budget, program and quality constraints.
