As a part of Citi’s Global Human Resources organization, the HR Chief Data Office (CDO) is responsible for regulatory and policy requirements in the field of data governance, data privacy and records management for the Global Human Resources function. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help drive one of the most mission-critical business practices at both scale and complexity across a

continually evolving regulatory landscape.

implementation, and maintenance of Citi’s Human Resources Data Privacy and Records Management Program consistent with applicable regulatory requirements and Citi’s policies and standards.

What you’ll do

The HR Data Privacy Lead Analyst will be part of the Privacy as a Service team responsible for overseeing the day-to day activities to support governance and oversight, operational risk management and controls leadership across the HR business. This individual has responsibility for supporting privacy related capabilities and requirements including compliance with the Citi Global Privacy Policy, identification and management of operational risks associated with Privacy and working across the business to ensure that effective controls and monitoring are in place to reduce risk.

  • Review and assess initiatives considered for Cross Border Data Clearance (CBDC) and provide guidance and support to various HR functions in securing the required clearances

  • Lead the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) process and identify controls required for all initiatives, new or changes products and services

  • Provide data privacy specialist risk and control advice and guidance to the product heads and functions, including identification and prioritization of key data privacy risks and vulnerabilities within the Business, Functions and regions

  • Update the Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) tool for all HR functions

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders across the organization on reviews and audits on Data Privacy

  • Develop and update desktop procedures for the processes owned by the Privacy as a Service team

  • Escalate and socialize material risk events and issues across businesses for any data privacy related items in line with Escalation Policy and procedures to ensure effective escalation and socialization

  • Validate completed data privacy CAPs in the tracking system prior to validation by other control and assessment functions such as Internal Audit and ORM

What we’ll need from you

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred; Privacy certification is preferred but not required

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Data Privacy, Data Privacy Operations, Information Security or Cyber related risk management experience or experience in an Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Control Management related role

  • Fluent English language skills

  • Working knowledge of Data Privacy Compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks, and appropriate controls, ideally in the

  • Workforce Management function. Additionally, familiarity with privacy related technology considerations such as cookies, mobile devices, biometric and geolocation data is desired

  • Risk-based thinking and analytical mindset with up-to-date understanding of key data privacy risk and control concepts, tools and trends

  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders

  • Effective communication skills

  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects

  • Proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Proven ability to navigate complex data environments and drive data governance initiatives

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships
