Here, you will make an impact by:
- Being a member of an IATD division-wide, global R&D team that executes important product improvement/change programs to deliver our brand promise of innovation and strong reliability to our customers.
- Developing a good understanding of our customer/market needs especially around Structural Adhesives, Sprayable and Hot Melt Adhesives business.
- Leading and supporting cross functional product improvement projects (NPI, CMP) to enable accelerated business growth and ensure competitiveness.
- Work with Product Engineering and travelling occasionally to Tilloy to support the PEs to develop, validate process, product performance and material specification, enable NPI commercialization
- Being an active member of high impact, cross functional teams that will work on multiple product families all-around Structural Adhesives, Sprayable and Hot Melt Adhesives.
- Leading and overseeing change management as it relates to product design changes driven by product/quality improvement, supply changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials/Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Experience in product engineering, product development, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory.
- Current, valid Driver’s License.
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience in liquid dispensing or automation
- Experience in product risk assessments, product safety, and product reliability
- Demonstrated history of leading Change Management Projects (CMP) maintaining Go-To product families and supporting global localizations of these product families
- Demonstrated experience successfully developing and commercializing products, including experience with phase gate new product introduction methodologies.
- Experience developing intellectual property portfolios in collaboration with legal and other technical experts.
Job specifics:
- Neuss, Germany
- On-site with flexibility (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Neuss at least 3-4 days per week)
- Travel: May include up to 20%Domestic/International
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
