Internal Communications Leader

You will be a strategic thinker, confident writer and editor, and a strong relationship builder. You see how each opportunity, development and story connects, seamlessly weaving between internal communications and engagement activities, digital marketing and events.

You must be able to translate business strategy into measurable tactics, work in virtual teams and manage a range of global, GDS and local programs simultaneously. As you develop your campaigns, you will consider and apply the latest trends and techniques and use metrics to inform your decisions.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the internal communications plan to position GDS Spain as a transformative, growing organization and ensure consistent communication programs for the organization’s employees.
  • Build relationships and coordinate with external partners including associations and other business organizations.
  • Organize internal events (global visits, employer branding events).
  • Coordinate both local and global marketing and communication projects – campaigns, designs, media publication.
  • Support employer branding initiatives to strengthen the company image as an employer of choice.
  • Advise GDS Spain leadership on how to effectively use internal communications channels to make an impact with key audiences.
  • Work with external agencies, as necessary.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Excellent English and Spanish language copy writing, editing and storytelling skills; strong verbal communication skills.
  • Solid experience in event management and employee engagement.
  • Knowledge of modern digital marketing tactics, tools and metrics.
  • Ability to network and collaborate across a matrixed organization.
  • Proven capability to translate the business agenda into high-quality, audience-centric communications.
  • Advanced listening and interpretation skills.
  • Creative, innovative thinking and problem solving.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management with strong deadline-orientation as well as the ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize work, delegate and multi-task.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications or public relations.
  • 5-7 years in external or internal communications roles with 3+ years of experience in content creation and digital marketing.
  • Previous experience in large, matrix organizations is preferred.
