Manager, Policy, Risk Management Services

Risk Management team at EY plays an important role in managing the internal risks of the firm associated with accepting a new client or an engagement or risks associated with any of our on-going audit/ non audit engagement. Formed in the Year 2007, the Risk Management team is growing rapidly as a Centre of Excellence for all standardized quality/ compliance related activities that can be efficiently undertaken from Global Delivery Services location.

The opportunity

The volume and complexity of legal and regulatory requirements which EY is required to meet, continues to grow, and as a result the quality of EY policies is required to continually improve. The current opportunity to join the Executive Risk Management (RM) Policy team provides the successful candidate an opportunity to learn and grow while understanding the best practices in corporate policy and support the delivery of new and refreshed policies across the organization.

The role also offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work with senior members of the Policy team and across business enablement functions, and service lines more broadly to increase visibility and awareness of EY policies.

This position is ideal for a team player who likes to maintain daily virtual contact with people across locations and teams. This position is designed for people who like to be challenged and want to grow in a dynamic, multi-cultural environment with modern tools. They will report to the Assistant Director in the Policy team.

Technical expertise

  • Understand project scoping, determine approach and methodology, and plan projects
  • Develop and maintain reporting templates, including dashboards and reports, to meet leadership's reporting needs
  • Apply analytical thinking to evaluate unstructured situations and provide logical conclusions
  • Review team members' deliverables and provide constructive feedback
  • Demonstrate agility with large datasets, create presentations, and possess advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Support strategic and complex processes, as well as ad hoc projects at GDS-RMS
  • Identify and deliver new opportunities to improve process effectiveness
  • Assist in transitioning new processes from Global or Regional Risk Management to GDS
  • Help design processes and transfer knowledge to others in GDS-RMS for recruitment, training, and deployment
  • Support and manage key operational activities at the RM Executive level
  • Work with senior executives in a polished, professional manner with minimal guidance to identify and implement appropriate solutions
  • Experience with assisting in automation projects, visualising platform development and usage from the end users’ perspective, process optimization, and transformation is beneficial
  • Quickly understand issues and adapt to the flexible needs of stakeholders
  • Exhibit expert-level English communication skills (reading, writing and listening) with the ability to summarize complex concepts into clear, concise language suitable for senior stakeholders without guidance and have strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with senior stakeholders and team members
  • Handle team issues effectively and provide solutions to maintain high team morale
  • Show excellent problem-solving skills, a strong commitment to quality, and a self-motivated learning ability
  • Maintain a consistent client-focused approach with attention to detail; manage potential conflicts and risks
  • Perform well under pressure and accept critical feedback positively, aiming for improvement
  • Demonstrate exceptional project management skills, follow up on key deliverables, and provide regular updates/ reports on project status; adept at managing multiple projects within strict timelines
  • Supervise team members who can be quickly assigned to ad hoc policy projects

  • Willingness to work more than standard hours, as needed

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • MBA degree with at least 8-11 years of experience
  • Absolute fluency in spoken and written English; excellent listening comprehension skills
  • Ability to work independently with well-developed problem-solving skills and understanding of processes
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Power Bi)
  • Deep technical understanding of and experience in the RM function preferred

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Credible experience working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment
  • Good presentation skills
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to independently solve problems with data analysis
