What You'll Do
As an EmbeddedSoftware Engineer, you will work on innovating products and massively scalable network solutions that are deployed by some of the leading service providers in the world.Other responsibilities might include…
- Participate in the development of software for ourCisco 8000NextGen router product family, with emphasis in L3forwardingand routing protocols andQoSinfra-structures
- Work closely with Service Provider andData Centers/Web customers toassistthem in building and deploying leading-edge L3 features and applications.
- Champion new/improved design and testing methodologies
- Work closely with the HW team to ensure successful interfacing of the NOS with the network hardware
- Potentiallyparticipatein Cisco Patent Program and standardization activities (IETF, IEEE,etc
Minimum Qualifications
- chelor’sin STEM with 7+ years of relevant experience or Master’s in STEM with 4+ years of relevant experience or PhD in STEM with 1+ years of relevant experience
- Experience programming and testing embedded software with C and Python
- Previousexperience developingand debuggingembedded systems based on Linux OS
- Experience with hardware solutions and hardware design to ensuresuccessful interfacing with device drivers, registers, or other hardware components.
- Previousexperience designing or implementinginternetnetwork protocolssuch as (IPv4, IPv6,MPLS,RIP, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Quality of Service (QoS) experience with classification and marking,schedulingand queuing, and shaping and policing
- CCIE or other networking certifications
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience in network virtualization development
- Creative analytical skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills
- Strong written and verbal communication, experience in presenting ideas/concepts
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time, prioritize them and handle time effectively
