As a Compensation Associate for Commercial and Investment Bank team, you will support a variety of firm-wide and regional compensation activities, including providing compensation analysis to stakeholders, coordinating annual compensation planning processes, and analyzing and reporting internal and external market compensation data.
You will partner across the Global Compensation organization to combine in-depth knowledge of compensation principles, understanding of the business needs, and the market and regulatory landscapes to deliver detailed reporting, analyses, and recommendations.
Job responsibilities
- Provide strategic support, partnership, and compensation recommendations for various projects in the Commercial and Investment Bank and firm-wide projects involving compensation
- Provide ad hoc analytics and presentations to support senior management in making strategic key business decisions around comp differentiation, talent retention, and potential gaps
- Lead multiple projects end to end – maintain project plans, update and influence key stakeholders, and implement change management strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders across functions at all levels – including understanding and incorporating business needs from compensation managers and HR partners and providing recommendations and presenting the story to the Compensation leadership team
- Actively lead and participate in compensation-related projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders with significant strategic and financial impact
- Provide annual compensation planning and administration support, involving coordination across business, and working closely with Human Resources and Finance partners
- Participate in compensation surveys; perform independent analysis of internal and external benchmarking data to support compensation needs
- Become a subject matter expert on our team’s compensation reporting suite and engage with clients to deliver accurate reporting and address business questions, opportunities, and challenges
- Simplify and improve the way we do things with fresh ideas, strategy, design iteration and implementation to ensure our compensation programs, policies, and processes align with business strategy, best practice, and our risk and controls framework
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Relevant Compensation, Finance, or related experience, with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Strong project management, analytical, and technical skills
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft applications: Advanced understanding of Excel is required
- Detail and results oriented with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and cultivate strong partnerships
- Ability to drive and sustain operational excellence and develop controls
