Job Description:Third Party Risk Oversight (TPRO) is part of the USPB COO organization, which supports Citi Enterprise by creating and implementing methodologies including process & procedures to measure, monitor and escalate Third Party related key operational and other risks. USPB Third party Risk Oversight is a First Line of Defense Control function that aids in the assessment of risk evaluation for Consumer Banking and Global Wealth LOBs. The Third-Party Risk oversight function is responsible to identify, assess, evaluate, monitor, and report the key operational risks for governing the risks associated with Citi’s use of and reliance upon third parties.
The individual in this role will report to the Senior Vice President of Third-Party Risk Oversight team in Mumbai, India. The primary role of the TPRO Operational Risk Intmd Analyst is to help managing the TPRO related systems/applications that are essential to effectively monitor & manage the Third-party relationships. The selected candidate would be expected to understand, analyze, contribute, and manage the successful implementation of business requirements into the technical requirements for the program. The existing TPRO program supports North America Consumer Retail Services lines of Business such as Cards, Retail Services, Retail Bank and Mortgage and Global Wealth LOBs.
The role requires in-depth understanding of how review/ monitoring areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. The analyst is required to evaluate moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. The role also requires good analytical skills in order to conduct root cause analysis; filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. The role also requires strong communication and diplomacy skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform/act as checker and backup maker for weekly file upload process to ensure the data accuracy and integrity of these files in TPORT. This includes downloading the data files from various sources (BAW,TPU, Cognos, TPRAP, TPCRG etc.) and perform ongoing and active collaboration with tech team to test the updated/enhanced files within the system; and monitor the data accuracy in file layout changes.
- Lead for CCPA/ CPRA (California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act) monitoring and reporting requirement across USPB and Wealth relationships.
- Lead for working with multiple source system teams to plan & discuss the root cause analysis of Reporting/ system/ data quality issues; identify and implement the action plans to ensure data accuracy and consistency in TPORT & CORE systems.
- Support the TPORT Helpdesk with any bugs/tickets, along with handling of day-to-day queries from Analysts/Managers and timely escalation to the technology team.
- Participate as Primary testers for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Ad-hoc Project testing and provide status update during TPORT Releases.
- Act as Analyst for Third Party Wealth Relationships and also proactively work with Business Activity Owner (BAO) and related stakeholders, as needed, to ensure Third party risk management procedures/ standards are followed, Operational risks are effectively managed and any gaps arising out of monitoring activities are discussed, evaluated, and reported as per Organizational/ TPRO standards, policies & procedures, and guidelines.
- Create MIS, dashboard reporting to Senior Management team on a regular basis including reporting of gap validation results as part of TPRO monitoring program (to ensure that USPB & Wealth level results are consolidated, and controls are working as designed).
- Act as primary lead of Wealth Business reporting and enhancement requirements and work with multiple teams/ peers for reporting accuracy and consistency requirements.
- Participate in the application/ testing of System integration & transition/ enhancements, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks
- Contribute to risk assessments and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
- Act as a lead to evaluate, document, and escalate potential gaps/ findings arising of reconciliation of Issues from source system and ensure that data quality & completeness checks of all issues have been updated with the most recent changes and validated in CORE platform. Contribute to risk assessments and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
- Act as primary support in the application/ testing of System integration & transition/ enhancements (such as TP-RAP to IRQ), and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
- Support TPRO management to ensure all Internal Audit, Regulatory Review, Compliance Testing deliverables are delivered timely as requested.
- Liaise with Business units/Stakeholders to ensure Adhoc requests relating to Governance activities are completed on a timely manner.
- Perform any other activities needed to support the needs of TPRO and / or Citi as may be needed by Management.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Gain thorough knowledge and understanding of Citi Third Party Risk Management program requirements.
- As appropriate, interact with larger TPO community, BAOs, and/or ESC category leads for sharing of best practices and coordination of services.
- Draft and present succinct executive briefs; prepare and present high-level metrics/ reporting to applicable Citi senior management and stakeholders when needed.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- Proactively work with Business Activity Owner (BAO) and related parties, as needed to ensure Third party risk management standards are completed, Operational risks are effectively managed and any gaps arising out of monitoring activities are discussed, evaluated and reported as per Organizational/ TPRO standards, policies & procedures and guidelines.
- Critically evaluate, participate and partner with concerned stakeholders within Citi to identify, monitor and suggest changes, as needed, in applicable compliance & regulatory obligations for Third Parties so that accurate list of compliance obligations are monitoring for such Third Parties.
- Contribute to risk assessments and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years relevant experience (Operational Risk Reporting and Analytics, Third Party Risk Reporting, Operational Risk processes)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strongorganizational & analyticalskills in conducting sophisticate analysis using vendor data and business required oversight to validate supplier is meeting or exceeding expectations and Citi has the appropriate governance over the supplier relationship.
- Extraction, validation, uploading of feeds from different data sources, dashboards and other query tools / platforms.
- Experience of working with various project management teams and project team as SME and identifying / implementing changes/enhancements in Queries, dashboards and other business requirements.
- Advance knowledge of Excel/pivot tables, macros and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated understanding of operational risk and gap identification with an ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong review/audit skillset, in context of process re-engineering, process reviews, interpretation of data and creating MIS/ Dashboard/Reports.
- Advance skills in MIS /Dashboard creation and Management of team member in MIS role.
- Banking industry, Credit card industry experience especially in creating MIS, Dashboard for Third Party Management teams.
- Understanding of Third-Party Risk Oversight and/or Understanding of Basic Operational Risk Management concepts.
- Bachelor’s/Universitydegree or equivalent experience in Operational/ Third Party Risk Management
- Required Skills: Advance understanding & Experience in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Data sourcing /Reporting tools.
- Preferred Skills: Certification/ Experience in Excel, PowerPoint, QlikView, SQL, Tableau, Third Party Risk Tools; Certification of Risk and Control framework, standards and Operational risk methodology preferred.
