In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your Role and Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance (QA) Tester for Java backend applications is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of backend systems developed using Java. This role involves designing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test plans to detect and resolve defects, ensure performance, and verify that the software meets specified requirements.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar. Nice to have JEST experience.
- Strong understanding of backend technologies and web services (REST, SOAP).
- Familiarity with version control systems (preferably Git).
- Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Basic understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in software quality assurance, particularly in testing Java backend applications.
- Proven track record of developing and executing automated and manual test plans.
- Very good knowledge of SDLC.
- Experience in working on common code in a team with agile procedure
