- The Quality Manager will support the Project Manager to provide Quality Management (QM) related services. In this role, you will be involved in daily operations to plan and execute Quality Management requirements; also, in resolving complex issues to meet Quality Management expectations while staying on schedule and within budget. As the Project Quality Manager, you will have frequent contact with internal and external individuals at all management levels and you will be responsible for project Quality Management's successful outcomes.
- Serves the Project Team, Client, and Program Management Consultant (PMC); demonstrates Quality Management (QM) acumen in planning, executing, measuring, and reporting of QM-related operations.
- Develop QM strategies and quality plans. Plans and executes work plans to meet project and program quality objectives. The work plan reflects short-term and long-term objectives to manage and mitigate QM risks.
- Provides leadership, management guidance oversight, and performance of QM practices. Provides these services for the project team for all disciplines to ensure compliance with the Quality Management Plan (QMP), including procedures, and QC and QA activities. Updates QMP annually or as needed to address the needs of the project team. Actively engages project leadership in their effort to manage and execute QM practices at the discipline-lead levels.
- Problem-solving QM issues. Supports the project team in all QM-related activities.
- Plans and participates in client/PMC and corporate audits. Provides timely audit responses. Develops audit plan project team, including sub-consultant audits; executes project team, including subconsultant audits to include follow-up reports. Coordinates with the corporate QM team for project audits at a regular cadence.
- Prepares and implements project QM training program. Conducts QM training program for project team including sub-consultants; maintains training records.
- Develop QM procedures and ensure established procedures are followed across the project disciplines. Monitors and audits QM procedures; identifies and communicates QM procedure shortcomings; investigates and reports on QM enhancements; follows up and follows through on shortcomings.
- Develop and report on QM metrics. Manages and monitors metrics to ensure favorable project outcomes; guides in areas not meeting tolerance.
- Forecasts QM workload. Includes forecasting Level of Effort (LOE) for Cost Proposal; manages and monitors QM budget.
Here's what you'll need
- Preferably hold a Civil Engineering certification or any other related field.
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a Quality Manager role preferably in Power Plant construction.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing construction projects in the Renewable Energy sector.
- ISO9001:2015 (QMS) certified applicants are highly preferable.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of construction Quality Management System (QMS).
- Deep experience in reviewing, handling, and implementing construction Quality Management Plan (QMP).
- Familiarity with international and local engineering and construction methods, applicable codes, and specifications related to Renewable Energy Power Plants.
- Sound knowledge of current construction and QA/QC standards.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Inspection of all equipment on arrival on site – mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural
- Site supervision of ,material storage on site including on laydown areas and onsite warehouses and climate controlled storage
- Review of EPC Contractor’s compliance to storage and preservation procedures
- Review compliance with supplier’s requirements for handling and storage.
- Reporting on equipomemeny delivery for the purpose of schedule and progress assessment
- Sign off of EPC Contractor’s material receiving reports on behalf of Owner
- Identify non-conformances with the EPC Contract, design or site procedures, and raise Non- Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Agree with the EPC Contractor on requirements for identification and segregation of the non-conformance.
- Request proposals from the EPC Contractor for corrective and future preventive actions
