Technical Skills:* Lead architecture and design of complex applications
* Evaluate technical choices and make trade-offs
* Integrate solutions with existing Amazon systems* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Interact with senior management and stakeholders
* Clarify ambiguous issues and negotiate technical solutionsLeadership and Mentorship:* Set technical vision for products
* Review technical designs and code
* Mentor other engineers and raise the bar on standardsOperational Excellence:* Ensure high system availability and reliability
* Identify and implement best practices in coding, testability, and security
* Proactively monitor and maintain systems

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience with Linux/Unix

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
