As a Technology Support Lead in the Commercial and Investment Banking Technology – Credit Exotics Trading you will play a leadership role in ensuring the operational stability, availability, and performance of our production services. Critical thinking while overseeing day-to-day maintenance of the firm’s systems will be key and set you up for success as you navigate tasks related to identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to ensure a seamless user experience.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead to support proprietary and external technology platforms which encompass client connectivity, eTrading, pricing and analytics, algo trading, risk management, post trade and regulatory reporting and power the Credit Exotics Trading business along with its user base of traders, sales personnel, Middle Office & Operations.
  • Work at a high performing team based on the trading floor, providing front line support to the Credit Exotics trading desk and work with senior Trading & Technology stakeholders on high-profile systems, and work on a wide variety of technologies, including new platforms being developed in Kubernetes & on AWS.
  • Involve in SRE/DevOps projects, automating manual tasks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and collaborate with the global counterparts on strategic improvement initiatives to evolve and enhance the capabilities of the team.
  • Utilize both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm.
  • Work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines.
  • Lead teams of technologists that provide end-to-end application or infrastructure service delivery for the successful business operations of the firm.
  • Execute policies and procedures that ensure operational stability and availability.
  • Monitor production environments for anomalies, address issues, and drive evolution of utilization of standard observability tools.
  • Escalate and communicate issues and solutions to the business and technology stakeholders, actively participating from incident resolution to service restoration.
  • Lead incident, problem, and change management in support of full stack technology systems, applications, or infrastructure.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Possess 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and inquisitive. Able to demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and personal accountability.
  • Proven expertise in application development and support environment with more than one technology and multiple design techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software.
  • Understanding of risk controls and compliance to departmental and company-wide standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Experience managing applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud.
  • Proficient in observability and monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Experience executing on processes in scope of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages – previous experience of Python would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience working on a front-office aligned support team (ideally on a trading floor) or product knowledge of Fixed Income is highly desirable.
  • Basic cloud knowledge would be an advantage (AWS or Kubernetes).
  • Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
  • Knowledge of LINUX/UNIX operating systems, i.e., executing functional commands and scheduling tools (Autosys, Control M).
  • Experience with database technologies, i.e., ability to develop and execute SQL queries and knowledge of working in a DevOps / SRE model would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of development tools (Jenkins, Git, BitBucket).
