Develop recommendations to adjust credit policies by analyzing credit and financial performance utilizing statistical scoring, segmentation, regression and simulation techniques
Implement initiatives to ensure consistency and compliance with credit policies
Utilize SAS in a UNIX environment to perform risk, financial and data analysis including profiling, sampling, reconciliation, and quality testing
Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on portfolio performance, emerging trends and areas of opportunity
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications:
5-8 years relevant experience
Previous experience in credit card risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry
Ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals
Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency
Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and possess effective interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills
Extensive knowledge of SAS or SQL programming and literacy with MS Office software required
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:Executes, aligned with global and regional strategies, all responsibilities regarding underwriting, including, but not limited to:
Adoption of leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including the end-to-end underwriting process, from early origination discussions to development of credit approval memos
Drafting of Credit Approval Memo (CAM) packages including but not limited to ensuring they are complete andaccurate
Conducting initial financial analysis, due diligence, projection modeling, stress testing, risk ratings and other in-depthanalysis
Support relationships with key stakeholders in Banking and Risk and with key Regulators, Internal Audit, and controlfunctions
Support ICM Underwriting organization on strategic initiatives/projects asrequired
SPECIFIC RISK EXPERIENCE:
Experience in and exposure to global credit risk managementstandards
Ability to understand financing and productstructures
Ability to assess financial and industry data to conduct creditassessment
Able to discuss and address issues associated with the allocation of risk assets and risk capital in partnership with banking and product organizations
Experience with Agency Transaction (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac)
Proven ability to understand nuances of local markets, local regulation, and the capabilities and practices ofcompetitors
Navigates organizational complexity and breakssilos
Creates and sustains a network of strong partnerships with the business in all segments & geographies and other riskfunctions
Provides well-reasoned, balanced assessments of risk/return trade-offs associated with transactions and clientrelationships
QUALIFICATIONS:
2-5 years risk/risk-related credit work experience in banking/financial institutions. LIHTC experience stronglypreferred
Experience in effectively engaging with variousfunctions
Demonstrates strong ethics andintegrity
Ability to understand the ‘big picture’ in a complexenvironment
Strong verbal & written communication skills. Active listeningskills.
Demonstrated influencing and negotiating ability, resolve conflicts amongst variousconstituencies
Proficient presentation skills – adept at presenting effectively to audiences of various sizes and variousconstituencies
Ability to analyze real estate projects for feasibility including developing and modeling construction budgets, operating pro formas, reviewing appraisals and other 3rd party reports, analyzing market factors, completing sponsor analysis as well as identifying and mitigating transaction risks.
Strong knowledge of or the desire to learn the nuances of affordable housing, bond and LIHTCtransactions.
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi-task under tightdeadlines.
High attention to detail and the desire to take ownership of a process to drive towardsresolutions.
Ability to travel on short noticenecessary.
