In this dynamic role, you will spearhead efforts to identify new business opportunities, develop groundbreaking use cases, and shape roadmaps that transform innovative research into solid, impactful products for the mining, energy, and oil & gas sectors across Latin America. Acting as one of the key interfaces with relevant innovation generated by Bell Labs Research, you will leverage cutting-edge advancements to generate new business cases and elevate our ventures in cognitive digital mining to the forefront of the industry.

• Opportunity Identification & Use Case Development:
• Innovation Roadmap & Product Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to quickly translate research-driven innovation into robust products that address complex challenges in mining and adjacent sectors. Ensure that these innovations have substantial, measurable business impact and align with market trends.
• Interface with Bell Labs Research: Collaborate closely with Bell Labs researchers to identify and harness innovations that can be transformed into actionable business cases and generate business cases supporting the plans. Act as a bridge between research and commercialization, ensuring a steady pipeline of breakthrough products.
• Collaborative Partnerships & Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, industry leaders, and strategic partners across mining, energy, and oil & gas sectors. Serve as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, advocating for the potential of cognitive digital operations to drive digital transformation.
• Business Impact Analysis: Use data-driven approaches to measure the business impact of initiatives. Provide insights into emerging trends and technologies to continually refine product development and business strategies.
• Cross-functional Alignment: Partner with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and finance, to drive alignment and ensure successful market delivery of innovative products.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 10+ years in business development, innovation, or venture environments within the mining, energy, or oil & gas industries, with demonstrated success in Latin America.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of digital transformation trends, cognitive computing, and advanced analytics as they relate to the mining industry. A solid network within Latin America is a strong advantage.
• Analytical & Strategic Vision: Strong strategic mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Ability to envision and execute a roadmap that bridges research with commercial viability.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
