Lead platform architecture development for crash worthiness and high voltage safety to meet China and NA market requirement.
Lead target setting and breakdown, undertake benchmarking, set targets at vehicle, system, and component level to enable internal, regulatory, and public domain safety performance.
Lead subsystem, RIG, sled or component test design and execution to represent platform design verification and validation in program early time.
Understanding and experience on crash worthiness and high voltage safety to meet FMVSS, IIHS, USNCAP for NA market and GB, CIASI and CNCAP for CN market.
Conduct and expertise Safety CAE work LS-Dyna to fulfill all the requirements, including (1) analyze safety requirements using FEA models, (2) ensure CAE modeling with best practice, (3) devise design solutions for any issues identified in analysis or testing.
Enhance CAE testing correlation, develop continuous methods and process improvements. Including (1) act as a proactive team leader dedicated to enhancing the quality of CAE output and meeting targets. (2) document design analysis studies in the appropriate Design Analysis Report format. (3) Collaborate with D&R and test engineering teams to ensure consistency between experimental and analytical results, including accurate loading, boundary conditions, and material properties.
Collaborate with Ford global core teams on technique development review and program gateway report, ensure delivery with success on each gateway.
Have subject matter technical depth in Safety & as an informal coach, go-to guy within Safety team (1) to mentor new engineers, graduate trainees in Safety and CAE; (2) provide technical training in Safety for general engineers
Experience and Background Skills Desired:
Safety design/test/CAE experience in auto industry
Skills required for efficient handling of CAE softwares: Ls-Dyna, ANSA, Primer, Hyperworks and/or equivalent.
Minimum bachelor ’s degree in engineering or related discipline
