What You'll DoThis is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Trade Compliance Screening Analyst to join Cisco's Legal team within the Trade Legal and Compliance (TLC) team. TLC oversees global trade regulations and compliance. We seek a curious, creative teammate who will:
- Conduct due diligence and lead sanctions and export controls screening for Asia Pacific (APAC) based transactions, including denied party, location, and end-use/end-user screening for various sales, service, and other transactions.
- Validate appropriate export authorizations (licenses or exceptions) for transactions, conduct due diligence, monitor internal tools to ensure compliance, and determine when to bring up to senior management and/or trade counsel.
- Represent the TLC team in developing and maintaining relationships with internal business teams and senior leaders in the APAC region to understand, educate, and implement business support in line with regulatory requirements and Cisco policies.
- Participate in periodic reviews of screening procedures, reports, and systems to identify risks or deficiencies and ensure the effectiveness of our compliance screening program.
- Support ongoing adoption and implementation of new and/or updated screening tools, including technology software and systems, trade compliance training programs, and process development.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes related to sanctions screening and business transaction monitoring.
Who You AreThe successful candidate will have:
- Deep understanding of U.S. sanctions regulations (geographic and list-based), EU and UK sanctions regulations, the BIS Entity List, and other applicable denied party regimes and associated risks and prohibited activities.
- Knowledge of export license requirements, including end use and end-user restrictions such as the military end use/user (MEU) rule and supercomputer and semiconductor end use restrictions.
- Ability to conduct due diligence and open-source research in Mandarin.
- ACAMS, ECTI, or similar sanctions and export controls certification is preferred but not required.
- Experience reviewing sanctions screening alerts, including record keeping of analysis and alert disposition.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning screening software tools (e.g., Oracle Global Trade Management, Global Trade Solution).
- Experience with export/sanctions operations in APAC, ability to explain regulatory requirements and compliance risks to the business, and develop and maintain relationships with key business customers.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

- Ability to balance quality of work with deadlines in a fast-paced, results-oriented culture.
- Ability to identify risk issues affecting work progress and recommend solutions.
- Experience collaborating closely with virtual teams and cross-functional customers.
- A minimum of a BA/BS and 5 years' experience or a master's or equivalent experience and 3 years' experience delivering dynamic, business-minded solutions within trade compliance, law, supply chain, and/or logistics, along with strong knowledge and experience developing processes related to trade (export & import) regulations.
