Provide a full and comprehensive range of in house legal services to Global Operations (mainlySourcing), as well as other Corporate Functions supporting the Global Sourcing business operating in the Asia Pacific region
Ensure legal compliance, increased risk awareness as well as transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice and suggest action plan or solution to business stakeholders on their day-to-day business operations
Investigate, research and resolve legal matters within corporate policies to achieve an advantageous company position
Responsible for providing, overseeing and facilitating legal services including counselling, company secretary work, contract review, drafting and negotiation, structuring of transactions, legal risk assessment, and dispute avoidance to protect interests of adidas
Review and/or establish relevant legal policies and procedures to better protect adidas’ interests
Provide relevant training to Sourcing stakeholders to raise legal awareness and ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant external laws
Work with business stakeholders to gather all relevant information and instructions in order to draft the necessary documentation for any business engagement
Review legal enquiries from Sourcing officesand provide relevant directions to resolve the issue
Work closely with the other legal departments of adidas to ensure effective collaboration to achieve an advantageous position for the adidas
Manage and liaise with third party legal service providers (eg: law firms, other consultants)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong background in contract drafting and negotiation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required in order to liaise with internal and/or external parties in confidential matters
Business fluency in English (written and spoken). Ability to write and speak other Asian languages (eg: Chinese, Vietnamese, Bahasa) would be advantageous
Excellent client relations management skills (including ability to interact with clients with all levels)
Strong commercial sense and ability to make practical evaluations of risks
Ability to work independently
High degree of stakeholder orientation and appropriate prioritization
Excellent analytical skills in order to analyze complex issues and to improve processes and techniques
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
A qualified solicitor in a common law or equivalent jurisdiction with at least 4 years' post qualification experience, preferably with relevant in-house experience
Solid experience in general corporate work and commercial contracts
