Your Role and Responsibilities


As a Support Engineer, you will research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues in an accurate and timely manner. You will be responsible for working with different teams, systems, software, and hardware and follow standard procedures to escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal departments. In addition, you will document technical knowledge and train or mentor other support engineers and developers.

You will be constantly learning new things. Our technology is always changing and evolving. You will need to keep up with the latest trends to effectively support our products. Constant learning can be very rewarding, as you will always be acquiring new skills and knowledge.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in developing and enhancing or supporting application systems
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems
  • Knowledge of software development and agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Be service-oriented and customer-focused
  • Be highly organized and thrive under pressure
  • Recent Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree in Software Engineering
  • German: fluent
  • English: fluent


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Database architecture in general
  • ExperiencewithIBM z/OS
  • Experience in database replication technologies
  • Practical experience with Open-Source technologies
  • Experience in Python and Shell
  • Experience with GitHub Issue Tracking
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Insights in latest Continuous Delivery practices and Continuous Integration automation
  • Knowledge in Cloud technologies, such as Docker or Podman
  • Experience with Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform or Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud®, AWS, Azure, or Private Cloud deployments
