About the Role
As a Principal Water Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality water and wastewater water infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in:
- Providing technical leadership and verification on complex water infrastructure projects
- Mentoring and guiding a team of talented engineers
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Driving business development and fostering client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Develop and evaluate options to arrive at preferred solutions
- Lead and guide technical design inputs on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality
- Provide technical review and verification on projects to client requirements
- Provide technical direction and mentoring of junior team members
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet client expectations
- Contribute to business development through networking and high-quality work delivery
- Champion innovation and promote new techniques in water engineering
- Foster an inclusive and diverse working environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering
- Extensive experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a design environment
- In-depth knowledge of water industry standards, codes, and best practices
- Strong proficiency in relevant software
- Excellent technical knowledge, design management and client relationship skills
- Ability to manage technical and corporate risks
- Outstanding communication and report writing abilities.
