As an Associate within the Currencies & Emerging Markets (CEM) - Market Risk Coverage team, you will identify, monitor, and measure business risks. You will work closely with traders and the Market Risk management team to highlight top risks and contribute to the global project agenda. Your role will involve managing a broad suite of products, with a focus on rates and FX products in G10 and/or Emerging Markets. You will report to the Head of Market Risk for Asia Currencies and Emerging Markets, with opportunities to contribute to the wider CEM team agenda.
Job responsibilities
- Perform daily monitoring and analysis of risk exposures, understanding factors driving profits and losses affecting the trading portfolio
- Advise and provide recommendations on trading limits and pre-trade approvals
- Escalate issues appropriately, working within your experience boundaries
- Interact regularly with traders, challenging risk decisions
- Identify top risks and communicate them to the trading business and the CEM Market Risk management team
- Develop a deep understanding of financial products traded by J.P. Morgan and associated risks
- Perform scenario analysis and stress testing, articulating results into executive summaries
- Handle regulatory inquiries related to Market Risk and understand the legal entity footprint in Asian countries
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, trading, or valuation/product control
- Strong quantitative and analytical background with extensive product knowledge in linear rates and FX derivatives
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to advancing the team’s agenda and leading discussions with stakeholders
