Job Description

Join our team and be the driving force behind our Laboratory's success. As a Laboratory Systems and Instrumentation Manager, your energy, knowledge, innovation, and leadership will be invaluable in carrying out the following responsibilities:

  • Managing Laboratory activities relating to Lab start up, Instrument and laboratory systems introduction. Technical support to ensure processes and end products comply with corporate and regulatory requirements to facilitate product release.
  • Lead the teams through selection, development, coaching, and retention activities.
  • Manage laboratory systems and instrumentation budget and costs including management of outsourced instrument calibration and maintenance activities and ensure financial compliance within the team.
  • Ensure all laboratory activities are performed safely and in compliance with current guidelines and regulations.
  • Drive metric adherence and schedule delivery within the Laboratory using the Tier process.
  • Provide the team with the necessary resources and programs for their technical and professional development, fostering personal growth aligned with their roles. Develop and maintain training programs.
  • Focus on mee􀆟ng the needs of both external and internal customers, effectively liaising with external groups.
  • Ensure daily adherence to Quality Systems within the Laboratory and wider site departments.
  • Provide systems and Instrumentation support to the Laboratory and other site departments. Play a key role in driving the Lab Transformation program to Optimize, Standardize and Digitize business processes.
  • Coach the Lab systems and Instrumentation teams
  • Drive continuous improvement through lean projects, such as standardized work, digitization, and knowledge management.
  • Business owner for Laboratory instrumentation SDLC, commissioning and qualification documents.

To excel in this role, you will likely have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Science or Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Knowledge of regulatory/code requirements to Irish, European, and international standards and practices.
  • Considerable experience in a comparable role: would typically have experience operating as a senior professional and adding considerable value to the business in a GMP manufacturing setting.
  • Significant leadership experience in a managerial role as you will be managing a team of 10/12 team members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related computer applications.
  • Excellent report, standards, and policy writing skills.
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma Methodology is preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and external customers in a team-oriented manner.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching abilities.
