What to Expect
What You’ll Do Oversee Tesla’s BESS trading performance in the AEMO market. Manage 24/7 BESS trading in the AEMO market in Autobidder, including exchange-traded and OTC products. Analyze market conditions, develop risk-adjusted trading strategies Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance Autobidder’s algorithm. Develop and document trading processes to improve team and asset performance. Build internal analytical tools and dashboards. Engage with Tesla customers to optimize system performance and mitigate risks. Track market rule changes and translate them into software and trading strategy updates. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Engineering. 5+ years of physical or financial trading experience in Australian electricity markets. Proficient in SQL, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach. Data-driven mindset with informed opinions on Autobidder’s development and performance. Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously while influencing others.
You will generate actionable insights, communicate complex topics clearly, and engage with stakeholders. Collaborating with engineers, you will refine trading strategies, support decision-making, and monitor Autobidder’s real-time performance to balance risk and returns.
This role requires analytical problem-solving, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments. This position is open to applicants based in both Melbourne & Sydney.
