Software (SWA) comprises the definition, specification, and allocation of requirements from different sources utilising knowledge of systems engineering processes (specification & architecture). Contains processing of use case and feature requirements into conceptual models, operational scenarios, technical requirements, and functional description. Covers specification, design, implementation, and unit testing of Software (e.g. device drivers, microcode, hardware-related software & firmware) according to the requirements and architecture defined in the systems engineering process. Covers establishment and maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) practices into software development projects, continuously building and integrating infrastructure tools and systems.

As aSoftware Tester, you will play a crucial role in Testing complex software applications functionality and performance.

Key Roles & responsibilities

• Writing and executing test plans, test cases, and automated test suites .
• Conducting functional, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Identifying, raising it in defect management system like JIRA, and tracking defects through to resolution.
• Analyzing test results and reporting findings to stakeholders.
• Identifying and reporting performance bottlenecks in applications.
• Assisting in quality assurance processes and best testing practices.
• Ensuring scalability , security , and performance of applications.
• Working with cross-functional teams, including Architects, product managers, and QA Testers.
• Supporting co-testers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Keeping up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends and implement best practices in testing.
  

Mandatory Skillset

• Telecom Domain knowledge is a must, including in-depth understanding of 2G/3G/4G/5G/VoIP/VoWi-fi core network Architecture, related call flows and protocols . Location services (LCS) and related call flows knowledge is a plus.
• Understanding of 3GPP (E-UTRAN, NG-RAN, IMS etc.), OMA, ATIS, NENA, and related standards for LCS is a plus.
• Good experience in test setup creation, test planning including writing test plans, test execution and preparation of test reports with important performance KPIs .
• Hands-on experience in various test execution tools, call flow simulators (e.g., JMeter, SIPP etc.) and test case automation tools
• Experience in scripting using Python or Shell for automating day to day tasks.
• Good Understanding of protocols like LDAP, SOAP, XML, JSON.
• Familiarity with the positioning methods ex: CID/ECID, TDOA, AGNSS etc. is a big plus.
• Hands-on experience in Linux particularly RHEL/Rocky Linux concepts including understanding and fine tuning of kernel parameters.
• Good understanding of Cloud-native and traditional BareMetal and Virtualized solutions. Understanding of OpenStack, Red hat OpenShift.
• Good working experience with container runtime like Docker/Podman and helm for k8s package management is a plus.
• Expertise in traffic simulators , Robot framework test automation tools is a plus.
• Solid experience in debugging issues with tools like Wireshark/tcpdump
• Working knowledge of GitHub/Gerrit (GIT) , JIRA.
• Good Soft skills – Interaction with Customer/market or internal teams.

Good to have.

• Experience in DevOps – Writing CI/CD Pipelines and use of Jenkins and Ansible Tools for Build Automation & Deployment.
• Agile and Iterative S/W Testing experience is a plus.
