Audit Automation Center (hereinafter referred to as “AAC”)has been set up in 2017, as part of the Audit practice, in the EY Athens office, by a dedicated team of highly qualified members in the fields of audit methodology and data processing/analysis. AAC disposes of extensive expertise and know-how in the field of audit services through which we support the auditors, ensuring an increase in audit quality and providing significant efficiencies and competitive advantages.

Your key responsibilities

As an Senior Team Leader, you will be involved in the support of various Audit engagements in different industry sectors (Industry entities) in which EY is acknowledged as a market leader. You will become a credible Auditor, contributing to our mission of excellence by:

  • Leading day-to-day fieldwork and coordination of the deliverables to the audit teams.
  • Collaborating with audit teams to ensure seamless support to the audit execution and delivery
  • Monitoring of the AAC team’s daily operational activity
  • Keeping AAC executives updated on status of operations
  • Supervising, coaching and mentoring less experienced auditors, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Effectively completing Audit processes with appropriate consideration of Audit risk issues and accounting technical matters
  • Embracing technology and our various innovative solutions for a more efficient and effective Audit approach
  • Supporting audits in accordance with the EY methodology, and relevant accounting and auditing standards
  • Constantly developing your understanding of current market and industry trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues by providing on the job training on Audit skills and industry matters
  • Contributing to the effectiveness of our internal procedures and identifying areas for improvement
  • Working effectively in teams

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 4-5 years of relevant Audit working experience in audits of Industry entities with a proven track record of outstanding performance
  • Excellent academic background including a bachelor and/or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other relevant academic major
  • Substantial knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English
  • Familiarity with internet, networks and new technologies
  • Results-oriented approach with keen attention to high quality, details and accuracy, self-motivation, teamwork and desire to exceed expectations

Ideally you will also have

  • Professional accountancy qualification or working towards gaining one (ACCA, ACA, CPA, SOEL)
  • Experience with reporting requirements for EU listed companies
  • Experience with reporting requirements (SEC, SOX 404) for US listed companies
  • Prior working experience in one of the big audit firms either in external audit or in an Audit support hub
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (ECDL degree or equivalent)
